CBG Hemp Oil

You’ve probably heard of cannabidiol (CBD), but what about CBG?

What is CBG?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a rare, minor cannabinoid found naturally in the hemp plant. Like CBD, it’s a core component of several hemp products offered by Highland Pharms due to its potential wellness benefits and alleged ability to aid numerous health conditionsCBG works like other hemp products by binding to CB1 and CB2 receptors to produce varying effects on the body. If you’ve tried CBD oils and felt little to no effect, CBG oil could be the solution that fits best with your body chemistry. Because each person’s genetic makeup varies, different hemp extracts produce different results. Furthermore, it’s possible to build tolerance to other hemp products after extended use. If you’re looking for a change of pace that may work better for your body, consider trying our line of high-quality CBG tinctures.

Where does CBG come from?

In the early stages of growth, hemp begins producing cannabigerolic acid (CBGa)and as the acid inside ages with the plantit creates two byproducts: CBDa and THCa.  Eventually, these acids convert into all the 100+ cannabinoids we know ofThus, CBG is often referred to as the mother of cannabinoids.

As cannabigerolis continually transforming into other compounds, there’s not much present at any given time during a plant’s life cycle. For this reasonits importance has been overlooked for decades, but recent research has shined a light on its potential benefits.

Highland Pharms CBG is sourced from premium cannabis sativa plants grown in Colorado. We’ve worked carefully to find the best growers to make sure our CBG products are of the highest quality. So, you can have confidence in our line of cannabinoid products, knowing our hemp extracts come from some of the most experienced boutique farms in the United States.

What are the benefits of CBG?

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) guidelines do not allow companies to make claims about the ability of cannabinoids to cure or aid in the treatment of medical conditions, and for this reason we cannot guarantee any benefits

However, our customer base includes many people with assorted health issues who have reported positive effects after using CBG. While research is still ongoing, it’s alleged the possible health advantages of the cannabis sativa plant are partly due to the presence of CBG in certain strains. Some studies suggest that cannabigerol may be useful for treating include:

Glaucoma
Huntington’s disease
Inflammatory bowel disease
Staph infection
Cancer

In addition to these illnesses, studies have suggested that CBG may be helpful in reducing depression and anxiety. You may find it helps with your own health issues, but the only way to find out is to give it a try(1) (2) (3)

Where do you get your CBG?

Highland Pharms CBG products are sourced from all-natural, non-GMO cannabis plants grown in the United States. We select only the best hemp strains and gentle extraction methods to produce high quality products for you to enjoy.

Will CBG provide any benefits if CBD doesn’t?

While CBG and CBD bind to the same receptors, studies show CBG has distinct characteristics of its own. Thus, if CBD hasn’t worked for you, CBG is worth looking in to. Our bodies respond differently to different cannabinoids, so it’s impossible to say whether or not CBG will work better than CBD. The only way to find out is by trying it yourself.

Should I buy CBG or CBD?

Determining which cannabinoid you should buy requires some trial and error, as your genetic makeup will affect how your body responds. We recommend beginning with one or the other, and, if you aren’t satisfied, you can always switch. However, keep in mind that all our products feature a mixture of cannabinoids with a central focus on one core cannabinoid. So, while the main ingredient in our CBG tinctures is cannabigerol, there are also healthy amounts of CBD in them as well. Similarly, our CBD tinctures contain low levels of CBG. You’ll experience the benefits of both CBD and CBG in all of our products. It’s just that, depending on the product you choose, you may or may not be getting enough of the particular cannabinoid that fits best with your body chemistry.

Are your CBG products full spectrum or broad spectrum?

Highland Pharms CBG oils contain both cannabigerol and full-spectrum CBD to give you the most comprehensive hemp extract experience possible. Our capsules, on the other hand, contain CBG and broad-spectrum CBD, which is THC-free.

How much CBG should I take?

Factors such as age, weight, and metabolism affect how quickly and adequately your body processes cannabinoids. Thus, the amount of CBG you need to produce the desired effects will vary based on your body chemistry. For capsules, we recommend starting with two per day—one in the morning and one in the evening. After a week of usage, you can increase the dosage to four capsules per day if needed. For drops, we recommend starting with 1-2 per day. You can increase the dosage by another 1-2 drops the following week if you feel you need more.

Does CBG have any bad side effects?

We have not received any reports of bad side effects other than a possible calming, relaxing sensation when taking more than the recommended dosage. However, it’s best to consult your regular physician before introducing new supplements to your daily routine.

How does CBG interact with prescription medications?

If you have concerns about using CBG with prescription medications, it’s best to consult with your healthcare provider.

Is CBG legal where I live?

All of our CBG products contain less than .03% THC, meaning they are federally legal in all 50 states and American territories, as well as in many countries around the world.
