CBD PILLS FAQ

Why Take CBD Capsules?

CBD capsules are one of the easiest and most convenient ways to ingest a pre-measured quantity of CBD. Both our regular and softgel capsules are infused with quality hemp extract containing CBD oil, so you simply have to decide on the most suitable dosage, and administer as needed.

We offer a wide range of CBD strengths and capsule types to choose from.

Advantages of Softgels and Other Capsules

When it comes to dietary or herbal supplements—including CBD—bioavailability is a key consideration of both consumers and manufacturers. This refers to the proportion of a substance that’s absorbed by the body and actively circulates the system, rendering a noticeable effect on the consumer. Poor bioavailability generally leads to lower efficacy, whereas better bioavailability and liquid solubility correlates with greater absorption. Softgel capsules, made with gelatin or vegan substitutes and containing liquid ingredients, typically have good bioavailability—thus why they’ve long been a popular delivery form of supplements.

While softgels are more costly to manufacture than regular capsules, they’re very convenient to transport, store and consume. The contents are usually wrapped with a sealed band that protects them from oxidation and external tampering.

Regular capsules are a good option for supplements made from powders and substances other than liquid. For instance, we offer a capsule that contains curcumin in addition to CBD extract.

Unlike some other CBD oil forms, softgels are easy to swallow and generally known to have minimal side effects. Both softgels and regular capsules are free of the strong smell and flavor that puts some people off CBD products. Additionally, studies have indicated that humans are quite tolerant to high doses of CBD, so the risk of overdose is almost nonexistent. A 2011 study conducted at the University of São Paulo found that chronic use of CBD and very high doses—up to 1,5000mg daily—are reportedly well tolerated in humans. However, you don’t need to administer a high dose to get the potentially desirable effects and holistic benefits.

Safe Use Of CBD Capsules

Prior to taking any sort of CBD product—whether cbd gel capsules, pills, or regular capsules—consult your doctor about the possible risks of introducing the supplement to your daily routine. This is vital to ensure there aren’t any known chemical interactions with prescribed medications you’re already taking. Once you start using CBD, it’s a good idea to carefully monitor how your body responds over time, and note any changes that occur as you increase or decrease your dosage. Significant side effects due to CBD are rare, but they can occur. While more conclusive evidence is needed to substantiate test results, researchers continue to study varied dosages of CBD, testing various formulations for different medical conditions.

There are different factors to consider in regards to dosage and possible effects—both intentional and residual. These are things such as body weight, medical conditions, lifestyle and alcohol use. For instance, taking CBD regularly and consuming a lot of alcohol may cause drowsiness and potentially intensify the naturally sedating effects of CBD. In terms of safety, CBD products are considered very low risk, according to the World Health Organization. High-quality CBD oil doesn’t carry the chance of addiction and abuse that marijuana and CBD products containing high levels of THC are associated with. However, the FDA has not approved the use of CBD products for medical treatment, with the exception of one drug, Epidiolex, for certain epileptic seizures. Legally, it’s still considered a food supplement.

Which CBD Capsules Should You Use?

Want to buy cbd pills online?  You’ve come to the right place!

You will find a lot of cbd capsules online.  But, we offer CBD capsules in a number of strengths, with the milligram dosage referring to the quantity of cannabidiol in each pill. The 15mg, 25mg, 50mg, 75mg and 150mg sizes are all CBD softgels, while the 100mg dosage is a vegan-friendly powdered hemp extract capsule. This range allows you to choose the strength that’s most appropriate for your individual CBD needs. CBD softgels are thought to break down in the stomach little more quickly than regular capsules do, so the product may be absorbed into your system at a faster rate. Our powder-filled capsules are natural and vegan, so they’re suitable for all diet types and restrictions; they’re also environmentally friendly and sustainable.

We infuse our liquid softgels and capsules with the highest quality full-spectrum CBD hemp extract available. So, not only do they contain cannabidiol, but also countless other cannabinoids, from CBC to CBG, CBN, terpenes, flavonoids and phytonutrients. When combined, these are believed to work synergistically to enhance the effects on receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. This phenomenon is known as the entourage effect and many believe it may have the potential to maximize health benefits related to CBD.

We now also offer water-soluble CBD capsules. Since water-soluble CBD is believed to be more easily absorbed by the body, most people need only about 1/3 as much as regular CBD. For instance, if you typically take 15mg of traditional CBD, you may find that just 5mg of water-soluble CBD will achieve the same results. Our water-soluble products are available in three strengths—5mg, 10mg and 20mg—and each also contain 250mg of curcumin. This chemical compound is thought to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants, which may supplement the benefits of CBD.

Specifications on each water-soluble product can be found on their individual product pages.

In order to choose the most appropriate product for your needs, we recommend first identifying how many milligrams of CBD you wish to take. Read more about how much CBD to take and other frequently asked questions on this page. Once you’ve determined the amount of CBD you need, simply choose your desired strength from the options available above.

Why Highland Pharms CBD Capsules?

At Highland Pharms, we focus on bringing the best CBD products to our customers, with hemp extract from the finest plants. We source our product from a boutique farmer with decades of experience growing cannabis sativa plants in Northern California . All of his hemp plants are non-GMO, grown from clones and meticulously cared for, ensuring the resulting CBD is of the highest quality.

Highland Pharms has been helping customers since 2015 and unlike competitors who have come and gone, we’re still around because we focus equally on customer needs and the quality of products we deliver. Your well-being, or that of your loved ones, is paramount to our mission of increasing accessibility to the best CBD products.

Types of CBD Capsules

The ingestion of full-spectrum CBD capsules provides an extensive array of cannabinoids and terpenes, as well as other helpful substances found naturally in hemp plants. By retaining these unique components’ equilibrium, a phenomenon known as an “entourage effect” occurs that enhances CBD’s therapeutic qualities. Full-spectrum capsules also include insignificant quantities (below 0.3%, per law) of THC that provide added benefits but have no intoxicating effects.

Broad-spectrum capsules present a feasible option for individuals who desire the entourage effect without exposure to THC. They have undergone additional processing that removes all traces of THC, making them suitable for those with drug testing concerns or legal restrictions. CBD isolate capsules, on the other hand, contain pure CBD devoid of all other cannabinoids and terpenes. These capsules offer an intense concentration of CBD that is ideal for individuals who require higher doses or prefer products without additional compounds.

Despite the absence of an entourage effect, CBD isolate capsules hold immense potential to provide therapeutic benefits to individuals who seek exclusive advantages from CBD.

How CBD Capsules are Made

The starting point for creating CBD capsules is extracting CBD from hemp plants. Several different extraction techniques exist CO2 extraction, ethanol extraction, and oil infusion among them. Among these methods, however, CO2 stands out as being particularly efficient and safe while producing high-quality CBD extracts. The process entails using pressurized carbon dioxide so as to cause the plant’s sticky nutrition to separate from the woodsy plant material.  This sticky nutrition is known as hemp extract.

To ensure uniform concentration levels within each capsule itself in production, an added carrier oil (namely MCT or hemp seed oil) is then mixed into said hemp extract. In the encapsulation process, a blend of CBD and carrier oil is tightly sealed within either gelatin or plant-based cellulose casing. Stringent quality standards dictate that quality manufacturers engage in comprehensive third-party laboratory testing to confirm safety, accurate labeling, and the absence of harmful contaminants such as pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents.

With varied forms available (including powder capsules, liquid capsules, and softgels), CBD capsules are the epitome of convenience; typically crafted from liquified CBD oil that’s been poured into either hypoallergenic types of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) or a more conventional gelatin shell. A variety of CBD delivery mechanisms have been developed over the years. One such method is liquid capsules that feature a seamless texture and can be ingested without difficulty—similar in nature to softgels. Other than this similarity, though, liquid and softgel capsules may differ in terms of their outer shell material components. Another delivery option comprises powder capsules which feature pure CBD combined with other nutritional elements known for enhancing absorption rates while providing more health benefits.

CBD Capsules vs. Other CBD Products

CBD oils and tinctures: With CBD gaining popularity as a natural health supplement, its various consumption methods have become an area of interest among users worldwide. Liquid forms such as CBD oils and tinctures allow for rapid absorption into the bloodstream through sublingual intake or mixing with edibles. Though they deliver quick results, many individuals struggle with accurately dosing them due to their fluid nature. Alternatively, one may opt for CBD capsules that aid in precise dosing alongside slower release times, generally leading to longer-lasting effects.

CBD edibles and gummies: With their infusion of CBD and oral consumption, CBD gummies and ediblesprovide a delectable and covert means of taking in the substance. These products are available in a range of flavors and forms, offering consumers tasty options. However, in comparison to capsules, they generally have lower bioavailability rates alongside slower onset effects because they need to go through the digestive system before being assimilated.

CBD topicals and creams: Those who suffer from localized discomfort may find relief from using CBD creams or topicals. Such products contain properties that address specific areas of pain without traversing through other bodily systems. Conversely, an oral application such as CBD capsules affects one’s entire physiology since they are absorbed by the bloodstream and therefore circulate throughout one’s body.  It’s important to note that while topicals tend to work best on a specific area, their effects will also typically be noticed throughout the body to some extent, as well.

CBD vape products: With their inhalation method, CBD vape products can provide quick and almost immediate effects, making them ideal for individuals seeking fast relief. However, the act of vaping poses potential dangers to lung health, which cannot be ignored. On the other hand, CBD capsules provide a more consistent and safer consumption method with longer-lasting effects.

Choosing the Right CBD Capsules

To make an informed decision in choosing the best CBD capsules, it is important to identify your specific needs and preferences beforehand. Consider the type of CBD – full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or isolate – that seamlessly aligns with your desired results.

Additionally, factor in any supplementary ingredients that may be beneficial for your particular situation. Keeping a sharp watch out for manufacturers providing open and transparent information about their sourcing techniques, extraction methods, and lab-testing protocols can guarantee you get a high-quality product.

It’s essential to ensure that certificates of analysis (COAs) are readily available and verify the potency, purity, and safety of the product. When purchasing CBD capsules, one should evaluate various brands through an analysis of their reputation, quality, and price range. Bear in mind that opting for the cheapest alternative may not always equal making the best decision; thus, it’s imperative you pick a product that delivers exceptional value while also maintaining superior standards.

CBD Capsules & CBD Pills FAQs

Do CBD Capsules Expire?

Yes. CBD capsules and softgels generally have a shelf life of two years if they're stored properly in a cool, dry location.

What strength of CBD Capsules should I order?

There is no scientific answer to this question, as efficacy depends on the unique physiology of a person’s body and the amount of CBD it needs to render desirable effects. We have an FAQ page on our website dedicated to this subject—click here. On this page, you’ll find tips to help you determine the correct dosage for your individual needs and a quick method of calculating how much CBD is in each product. We suggest reading ALL the information provided prior to purchase, so that you can make a well-informed decision. Ultimately, most people find that some experimental trial and error is necessary to discover the optimal amount of CBD to take.

Are CBD capsules more effective than other consumable products (such as CBD gummies or CBD oil tinctures)?

All Highland Pharms CBD products are made from the same organic hemp extract—a full-spectrum extract containing CBD, along with a huge array of cannabinoids and phytonutrients found naturally in the plant (excluding THC). Since all of our products contain the same main ingredient, most customers find that each one benefits them equally. However, some people do find CBD capsules to be more effective than other consumable items like gummies, as each body is different.

Do CBD capsules and softgels contain THC?

No. In order to be considered federally legal for purchase in the United States, all CBD products must contain less than 0.3% THC. This content ensures the products aren’t psychoactive and therefore won’t get you “high”.

How long does it take for CBD capsules to become effective?

In most cases, CBD pills take approximately 45 minutes to go into effect, however this time frame can vary significantly. Some people notice the benefits of CBD within an hour of their first use, while others may not experience noticeable results until several days or weeks of regular consumption. The perceived benefits of CBD and the time it takes to experience them depend on how the body responds to cannabidiol.

How do CBD softgels compare to regular capsules?

Generally speaking, the ingredients inside of softgels are absorbed differently, often more quickly, than traditional capsules. This is thought to be due to their bioavailability and liquid solubility.
However, everybody responds to medication and supplements differently. The absorption rate of all supplements and medicines depends on many unique physiological factors, such as metabolism and tolerance.

Why should I take CBD oil capsules?

Many consumers choose CBD oil capsules for the sake of convenience. The ease and simplicity of taking a pre-measured serving of CBD is understandably appealing—especially to those who juggle busy schedules and benefit from a low-maintenance medication regimen. Many also prefer not to apply a topical product, or eat something containing CBD. They simply want something they can ingest fast and safely.

What is the difference between CBD softgels and CBD hard pills?

Generally speaking, most brands that offer CBD hard pills manufacture these products with CBD isolate. CBD isolate is the most processed form of CBD, and the result of removing all other chemical compounds from CBD extract including THC—the psychoactive chemical found in the cannabis plant.
Broad-spectrum is somewhere in between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD, in that it contains most naturally occurring cannabinoids, but is THC-free. In terms of manufacturing costs, broad-spectrum CBD is the most labor-intensive and expensive to produce, which explains why many companies choose to use CBD isolate in their products instead.
We offer CBD oil capsules and CBD softgels made with full-spectrum CBD. This form retains all of the cannabinoids and phytonutrients found naturally in the hemp plant. The hemp plants used in our products are all non-GMO (not genetically modified), grown without pesticides and contain no more than .03% of THC, so the presence of this cannabinoid is not an issue. When these additional compounds are present and no solvents, pesticides or heavy metals are detected in the final product, some users report experiencing better results and more therapeutic benefits.
It’s important to note that these spectrums aren't regulated by the FDA, so it's crucial to purchase CBD oil and capsules from a trustworthy source with excellent customer reviews and high star ratings. We’re proud to deliver quality products that have undergone third-party lab testing, derived from sustainably-grown industrial hemp plants.

Conversely, we offer CBD Oil Capsules and/or softgels which are made from Full Spectrum Hemp Extract. This is extract that has all of the cannabinoids and phytonutrients found naturally in the hemp plants. When all these compounds are taken together, most people realize much better results.

Are softgels vegan- and vegetarian-friendy?

Regular softgel capsules are made using gelatin—an animal product—making them unsuitable for those following a vegan or vegetarian diet. However, we also offer vegan CBD hemp capsules, with shells made from an alternative material.

How many CBD oil capsules or CBD softgels should I take?

At Highland Pharms, we offer CBD capsules in many different strengths. Due to the variety of our product range, you should be able to find an option that is appropriate for you in a single capsule. The correct serving size of CBD differs from person to person; some people may find they need to take CBD capsules more than once per day to attain the desired effects.
We typically suggest that those new to CBD start by taking CBD capsules twice a day—once in the morning and once in the evening. After several days, you can adjust your routine and frequency to a dosing schedule that works best for your lifestyle and needs.
